Hidden Treasure

So I was putting away a few random toys that had been left downstairs. I am just about to throw this little treasure chest into the bigger box of Playmobile toys when I think I hear something jingling around inside. Curious, I open the lid, and what do I find but a treasure chest full of golden kernels of corn and a chewed up piece of chicken. Pretty hilarious and creative I must say. And then, in horror, I think: what if I hadn't looked?

A Busy Saturday

Busy day! We had baseball this morning. This afternoon, we ventured to Willows Beach again. (It's my new favorite local beach destination) The kids played in the sand. Ethan hung out with another boy amid the driftwood and built stuff. Here are some notable shots from our day.
Ethan prepares for a ground ball. Think legs like springs.
This is how you contain a 2 yr old during a baseball game.
The view from Willows Beach.
Malcolm drank all the gatorade.
Laurel builds a sandcastle
Ethan and driftwood. Laurel sneaks her way into the shot.
Malcolm shows off his work of art.

Spring in Victoria

Today was a cool, rainy gloomy sort of day here in Victoria. But last week... glorious sunshine. Highs in the 60's. Seven days
that screamed out....BEACH!

Tower Bridge

Ethan was too excited when he got his birthday present in the mail from Benjamin the other day. We began working on it immediately. A wooden puzzle of Tower Bridge in London. For now it is the centerpiece for our dining room table. Thanks, Benjamin.

Human Anatomy People

For the past two weeks, Ethan and Laurel have been coloring and cutting out various body parts/organs. Then they glued them onto their life-size body we traced and hung on the wall. The final part to adhere was the face. (Is it just me, or does Laurel's face resemble a zombie?) Aside from that, both of the kids had a great time with this project. I got to tell them about each organ as we covered it. And I can still quiz them on where all the parts are and what they do. Heard in my house last week, "Mom, my brain is telling my bladder I have to go pee." Now that's an education for you.
